Trip to the Yucatan Peninsula for Fishing

I can not wait! I am taking an amazing fly fishing trip to the Yucatan Peninsula this winter. The resort that I am staying at is not too far from Cancun. The place is called Ascension Bay. I found this resort in a fishing directory. The resort is known for fine fishing for bonefish, permit, tarpon and barracuda. I have never caught any of these species on fly rod and I am definitely looking forward to it. These species can grow large and put up a fantastic fight. I am going to have to bust out my nine weight rod and my really heavy reels. It is going to be a blast. I am trying to get my two buddies to go but we shall see. If the trip doesn’t end up being too expensive then they might be in. Wish me luck catching powerful bonefish and monster tarpon!
