Christina Mueller and Evonne Carter founded the San Francisco-based AltiPlano Gold in 2002. Evonne, a passionate vegetarian, and Christina, a self-described food nut, saw a gap in the natural-foods market. Though there were plenty of organic products, few were taking advantage of the high nutritional value of quinoa and other heirloom grains. With more people buying foods for their health benefits, the time was right to launch AltiPlano Gold. Christina and Evonne teamed up with leading industry experts – from nutritionists to sales and marketing specialists – to create AltiPlano Gold’s flagship product, New World Morning.
